What jobs does Seesmic have available?

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

That’s a good question, Jeremy. Why yes, I think it is.

I just thought of this, because when I met Loic in Boston, he said they need lots of developers. Chris Brogan said, “which kinds?” And Loic responded, “All kinds.” Pretty vague :-) And recently on a video where they announced they were working with Seesmic user dotBen. In that video Loic and Johann also gave the email address of info@seesmic.com to respond if you were interested in joining the developer team.

However, I have this question? What technology expertise are you looking for, Seesmic? Inquiring minds want to know.

Seesmic language update coming

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Vinvin and Loic just announced that there will be an update on Monday the 10th where you can follow the languages of your choice. They mentioned French, but not sure if it will be only French or will include more. A very nice update indeed.

Here is the video. And they show some pictures on Vinvin at The Winnieswhere have I sees those pictures before?

Seesmic on Mahalo

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Sean P. from Mahalo just contacted me and let me know that Mahalo has a Seesmic page now.

Oh, what’s Mahalo. Well… “Mahalo is the world’s first human-powered search engine.” You can of course find out more at Mahalo.com.

I’m also posting a video with Jason Calacanis, the founder of Mahalo, talking with Loic Le Meur, the founder of Seesmic.

Loic is giving away a plane ticket and access to LeWeb3

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

As far as I know, Loic twittered the news last night. And then he seesmiced.

I didn’t follow the link on the tweet and didn’t realize right away that he had blogged this as well. So I resisted blogging it thinking that Loic might want to keep this between those who follow Seesmic and/or his Twitters. And then right before writing this, I find that Techcruch blogged it, so the cat is WAY out of the bag now.

So here it is. You can get a free plane ticket from NYC to Paris, entry into LeWeb3, and then get back to NYC. You still have to come up with the hotel while you are there. I won’t be putting my name in the hat even though I am infinitely qualified and would be a sure thing to get it, but alas, I don’t have my passport. I guess I need to get on that.

New Competition

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

This is an interesting genre of social media. All social media tend to cross over each other anyway. There is only so much you can do with text, audio, and video. And as one well known person in this space told me, Seesmic is only getting the buzz because someone famous, Loic, is behind it. My response is that may be true, but Seesmic is also getting community, and that is the big enchilada.

So another startup is entering the fray of the twitterish/seesmicish/jaikuish/utterzish/powncish Social Media, and that is Poodz.com. Also a frenchmen, is this the beginning of the French takeover of Socal Media entrepeneurship? :-)
I would be remiss if I didn’t mentioned I found this information from JeromeB at fr.blognation.com.

The beginnings of seesmix

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

I came across this post from LoicLeMeur.com from October 24th, 2007. (And just for my own point of reference, I met Loic on October 30th, 6 days later, at Jeff Pulver’s party at the Roxy in Boston. Sadly that was my last night in town since I flew out the next morning)

Anyway, the post has the first two seesmix posted. Which if you are not aware what a seesmix is, it is a collection of seesmic posts in a 24 hour period, or the weekend. All edited masterfully by Giselle Kennedy btw. Always entertaining, it is is a fantastic idea, and a daily digest of videos I look forward to every day.

So if you are new to Seesmic, or an old pro, these are fun to watch, and these two are the first two. (and if you are new to Seesmic, or Seesmix anyway, they improved quickly, so skip ahead a few if you don’t particularly enjoy those two originals) More to be found on the under the user, Seesmix, on youtube.
